Applied Communications Skills Program Overview: 


Pre-program assessment to ensure participants maximize benefits from training and confirm time commitment.


Introduction to communication. Define communication, how miscommunication happens and the need for clarifying tools to support strong connections with others. 


Phase 1: Self-assessment skills. Personal communication style, common habits, and overcoming barriers.


Phase 2: Self-management strategies. Learning personal productivity and prioritization strategies. Lessons for improving oral communication through self-awareness, asking effective questions, adaptability, evaluation skills and accepting feedback, stress management, task management, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving, 


Phase 3: Team skills: Learning conflict management strategies, working with others, presentation skills, goal setting, understanding and acquiring EQ skills: i.e. empathy, identifying emotions, active listening, collaboration skills, and seeking understanding. 


Phase 4: Applying new strategies to your job situations. Implementation of all job-required forms of communication i.e., emails, text, meetings, reporting to supervisor/manager, taking directions and asking for help or clarity.


Program wrap-up and next steps. At the end of the program, you will receive:

- Personal written evaluation from the instructor on areas of strengths and areas for improvement

- Recommended reading and/or exercises to help strengthen any weaker skills needing improvement
